Raised so far

 

Since the year 2000, this annual event has raised almost £150,000.

 

The money has gone to Hospice Cancer Care, the Neo-Natal Unit at Nobles Hospital, Oscar's Dreams,  Craig's Heartstrong Foundation &

Hospice Rebecca House.

 

With your continued help and support, we will continue to make this amount bigger.

David Lyons became the 10th Anniversary Winner of Manx Stars in Their Eyes, since the event began in 2000, with his performance of "Cry Me a River" by Michael Buble.

 

The Judges decision was tough as this years show again provided some of the best acts the annual competition has seen. David received a cheque for £750 thanks to Jaks Bar & Steakhouse

 

In second place singing Barbara Dixon and Elaine Paige's "I know him so well" was Beth Christian and Francesca Glover. Beth and Francesca received a cheque for £500 from Barclays Wealth.

 

In third place was 13 year old Miah Bellew who sang Ellie Goulding's "Your Song". Miah received a cheque for £250 from A&J Butchers.

 

The show got off to a dazzling start thanks to the Rachel Wild Performers Studio Dancers with an amazing Footloose routine and Gena's Dance Academy showcased up and coming productions for 2012 in the interval together with dances from Perry O'Dea, Gena ,Jaico Garcia (Winner of Young Dancer of Man) and Alice Smith(Runner-up of Young Dancer of Man).

 

Other singers on the night were Laurence Mingins who sang "Brown eyed Girl" by Van Morrison, Les Harrison who as Neil Diamond sang "Sweet Caroline", Chloe Harrison sang "It's all about tonight" by Pixie Lott, Andrew McCullough performed as Garth Brooks with his hit "If tomorrow never comes", Liam Moorhouse who dressed to impress as Boy George singing "Karma Chameleon", Paul, Chris Terry and Graham who with jackets an all performed as Showaddy Waddy with their hit "Under the Moon of Love" Joe Wylde sang "I’m yours" by Jason Mraz, Mike Bonner transformed into Freddy Mercury singing "Somebody to Love" Natalie Cretney performed as Leona Lewis with her single "Run" Mark Walton sang "It only takes a minute" by Take That's Gary Barlow, Lyndsey Smart did a Brits performance of "Someone like you" by Adele and finally Joe Hillard sang "Trouble" by James Blunt.

A huge thank you to the main sponsors of the show Edward Bryan Safe & Secure and to our prize sponsors Jaks Bar and Steakhouse, Barclays Wealth and A& J Butchers. Also a big thank you to the team from OSA, Greenlight TV and the Naseem Charity girls. Early indications are that the event raised £15,500 for the Hyperbaric Chamber here on the Island.

 

 

                       

   

 

In 2000, 2001 & 2002, the Stars team supported the Isle of Man Hospice Care for Cancer patients and raised over £52,500 towards annual running costs. Hospice continues to provide specialist palliative care for patients and their families facing life limiting illness

 

 

In 2005, the Stars team supported the Isle of Man Hospice Care for Cancer patients and the Special Care Baby Unit at the Isle of Man Hospital. They raised over £15,000 and split it between the two charities.

 

 

In 2006, the Stars team chose to support Craig's Heartstrong Foundation. The team raised £18,000 for the charity that continues to hold annual free heart screenings. For more information on when the next heart screening will be, click here.

 

In 2007, the Stars team  raised £14,500 for the Special Care Baby Unit at the Isle of Man Hospital. The team at the Hospital do a sterling job and with our support bought more vital equipment to help the most vulnerable at their critical time of need.

 

In 2008 & 2009, the Stars team chose to support Rebecca House at the Isle of Man Hospice. The amount raised over the two nights was approx £33,000 which will go towards the £400,000 running costs of the wing.

 

In 2010, the Stars team  raised £18,000 for Naseem's Manx Brain Tumour Charity. The  charity provides financial assistance to Isle of Man residents diagnosed with a brain tumour..

 

2011

This year, the Stars team have chosen to support Hyperbaric Isle of Man. The chamber provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy to a wide range of patients suffering from injuries and chronic medical conditions.
