NESSUN STORMA

 

The 2007 winner of Manx Stars in Their Eyes was Mike Corkill whose rendition of Pavarotti's "Nessun Dorma" had the capacity Villa Marina audience chanting for more.Mike Corkill - Manx Stars in Their Eyes winner 2007

 

Mike, who said he had never sung to such a great audience, received a cheque for £750 from first prize sponsors Edward Bryan Removals.

 

Jolene Clark who came second

 

 

Second place went to Jolene Clark who on the night was transformed into Carol Decker from T'pau and sang "China in your Hands". Jolene received a cheque for £500 from Timberland Flooring & Ceiling. 

 

 

3rd place winner Rebecca Forrest

Third place winner was Rebecca Forrrest who finished the night off with Lulu's classic hit "Shout".

 

It was another great night for the team who raised £14,500 for The Neo-Natal Unit at Nobles Hospital.

 

Other acts on the night included David Cain as Jonny Borrel of Razorlight, Charlotte Corrigan as Shania Twain, Sharon Ross as Tina Turner, Jodie Teare as Faith Hill, Phil Carter as Ali Campbell, Sarah Clarke as Chrystal Gayle, Tina Perryman as Annie Lennox, Mike Faragher as Neil Diamond, Trevor Nixon as John Lennon, 10 year old Sarah Kinrade as Hannah Montana, Lauren Simpson as Katrina from Katrina & the Waves and Fiona Feeney who with the aid of scantily clad dancers, sang "From Paris to Berlin" from Infernal.

In 2007, the Stars team chose to support the Special Care Baby Unit at Nobles Hospital.

 

 

 

The amount raised on the night was £14,500 which has helped the Unit in purchasing new equipment for use on the ward.
